My Powers of Suggestion

I have some crazy powers.
Or maybe it’s the cats, but I’m taking credit since they can’t read and will never know…

Last Thursday it was my turn for “show and tell” during our monthly team meeting at the office. We had just gone through a very intensive 2-day workshop and were in need of something light, so I thought I’d tell everyone the story of adopting Pete and Ginger. It was kind of silly and didn’t require much prep on my part either. It was a win all around.

Everyone seemed to enjoy my little talk and were quite taken with the pictures of the kittens. I was happy to have my turn done with for a few months and figured that would be the end of my story.

Apparently my tale resonated with someone, because a coworker phoned Monday to share a story of adopting a cat of her own.

Here is the Coles Notes version:

My coworker took the day off to go Black Friday shopping at Yorkdale Mall, not far from the animal shelter where we adopted our kittens. She joked with her husband and sister that it would be funny if the shelter had a Black Friday sale and decided to go look at kittens while they were in the area.

Low and behold, they discovered that any cat with black on it was free to adopt that Friday. There were three left when they got there.

There were only two when they left.

I love that Pete and Gigner helped another cat lover connect with a pet!
