The Most Wonderful Time of The Year

Or, We Survived The First Week of School

It was touch and go for a while and everyone in the family was more than a bit cranky (some more than others, Bronwyn!). By Friday evening, I was in desperate in need of a stiff drink, but we survived the first week of school.

Week one down – how many more to go?

We are slowly adjusting to the new school-time schedule, the kids are enrolled in extracurricular activities and hockey is slowly ramping up.

As tough as the transition was this year, I am grateful for the routine and the cooler fall weather (or I will be, if it ever gets here). I’m looking forward to football season and chili on a Sunday afternoon. Although our pace hasn’t slowed down, being home in our beds every night has helped create the illusion of a slower paced life.

I’ll take it because hockey season is set to begin and I will need all the illusion I can get!
