The Hockey Report – Volume 2: Undefeated

Our Bad News Bears are really taking the North York Hockey League by storm! Tonight we wiped the ice with the Don Mills Flyers, 3 – 1. Findley was great on the ice. He knew his position (defense) and protected his goalie when the puck was in his zone. He is really starting to understand the ebb and flow of the game, and you can almost see him thinking about his next move, guessing what his opponent will do next and reacting. I wish he had such skill and determination when it comes to homework!

I am really starting to get comfortable in the team manager role. I am making an  effort to chat with all the parents at games and practices, commenting on how their kid is playing and making sure they are happy with everything to date (who wouldn’t be – we are undefeated!) Aside from some terrible commutes, everyone seems pleased with the team’s progress. I just hope we can keep this streak alive a while longer – I’d like to show all those snooty North York players just what Scarborough can bring to the arena.
