It is the Honeymoon Capital of the World, Afterall

We spent the weekend in Niagara. Auntie Lee and Chris were throwing a pre-wedding party on Saturday night and we decided to make a weekend of it and spent the night in the Falls, and the afternoon at a water park. Although we visit family in Niagara regularly, the kids have never spent any time exploring the falls and all of the crazy, over-the-top entertainment the city has on offer.

ga.src = (‘https:’ == document.location.protocol ? ‘https://ssl’ : ‘http://www’) + ‘.google-analytics.com/ga.js’;
var s = document.getElementsByTagName(‘script’)[0]; s.parentNode.insertBefore(ga, s);
})();

Our weekend started off exactly as planned. We arrived at our hotel and were slipping down water slides before lunch. Grandpa and Zjazja joined us early in the afternoon and we spent a good part of the day splashing around. (The park was so humid, I couldn’t take a single photo. Hopefully, Zjazja will forward some of hers for posting.) By three thirty we had breathed in our fill of chlorine, our fingers were wrinkled prunes, and it was time to head to Auntie Lee’s party.
Still on plan, we arrived at the party and mingled with friends and family. Just as Lee and Chris started their speeches, the entire evening veered off course. What started out as a casual evening to celebrate an upcoming wedding became the wedding itself!

var s = document.getElementsByTagName(‘script’)[0]; s.parentNode.insertBefore(ga, s);
})();

 Faster than you can say “here comes the bride”, chairs were moved into place, a justice of the peace was ushered onto the deck and the entire wedding party had changed into their formal bridal attire. Lee looked absolutely beautiful and glowed in her gown . If the couple felt any stress or anxiety, it didn’t show and everyone seemed to have a genuinely great time sharing their special day.
I wish the newlyweds this joy and happiness every day of their lives together and thank them for allowing me to share in such a great evening. I left hoarse from a combination of yelling and some
really bad karaoke. Thank goodness Dean had already left with kids and didn’t have to witness my pathetic renditions of Barenaked Ladies and Madonna tunes.
