Frozen Fingers

Findley finally set the hockey net aside. It’s not put away for good, but it’s a step in the right direction. I am sure that old net will be a big part of our summer fun, but at least for now, he’s turned his attention to another net – the basketball net.

He insisted on playing a quick game tonight. I was the lucky opponent, and only agreed to play for thirty minutes – it was so cold, my fingers couldn’t take much more than that. I was also the winner, beating Finn with a healthy score of  6 – 5.

Hockey couldn’t have been to far from his thoughts tonight – every time he got a basket, he would shout out “I scored a goal”. The poor boy has so much to learn about so many sports – and his dad only speaks one language: HOCKEY.
